Mennonite Church Canada
Mennonite Church Canada, as a national denomination, serves as the connecting body for our regional churches. In January, 2022, Mennonite Church Canada and its regional churches affirmed climate action as a nation-wide ministry emphasis. As of March, 2023, three of five regional church bodies had established groups to work on climate initiatives. MC Canada also has a Sustainability Leadership group and has recently hired a Climate Action Coordinator to connect our regional churches together in their work and build shared national climate action goals. Together, we have worked to name and publish six initiatives titled, “Taking Action on Climate Change: The Eco-Mission of the Church in a Critical Time.” We also are very active in work with Indigenous Relations, which is deeply intertwined with issues around climate change.
